I can also learn other langauges heh.

I'd just like to clear something up, the team as it is now (Aubrey, David, Jeff and John) did not create Lugaru, GL Fighters, Black Shades or Lightning's Shadow. Those games were created by David alone.

It wasn't until David decided to make a sequel to Lugaru (at first called Lugaru 2, now called Overgrowth) that the team was assembled and they started working together.

They truly amaze me in many many ways, it's pretty hard to understand how awesome they are at PR.

Re: Trials of 13 dev log #2: Design, and Art

Cool man shapin up well

Re: Indie Team Reviews: JForce games

with subject on indie game developers, I haven't really seen them picking fights with others to gain publicity, its kinda taboo amongst them. At least from what I've seen.

Of course raising a little hell is a good marketing strategy as you are more likely to be seen for that than you would from playing the nice guy.

Re: The Humble Indie Bundle

It was suppose to be more jokingly :P

Re: The Humble Indie Bundle

Dude ease down on insulting your readers haha
They don't have to be heartless or insane to not buy it, they could simply not be interested in those types of games.

Other then that, I agree it's an awesome buy and anyone that is indeed into those game would be mad to not take it up.

Re: Indie Team Reviews: JForce games

Many people find that hard to see as a marketing strategy? Who have you been talking too? It's not even a new marketing strategy, infact a lot of developers of games AND other products use strategies like this.

Hell even celebrities use strategies like this to get more famous, "Ohhh look at me im over dosing this totally isn't a way to get more famous". JForce just adapted that too say "Ohhh look at us we are so arrogant this totally isn't a way to get more exposure".

Now i'm not saying its a bad strategy, its just not the genius you were speaking of.

Re: Indie Team Reviews: JForce games

Yeaaahh! But um, honestly I do have some regret over that Gyro video. Wasn't quite genius. We could've handled that much better, people got really heated over it. While there were a few people who told us it was funny and awesome, we should have changed some things with it. It was possible to keep that entertainment value, still make noise, but make it a bit less anger-inducing. But whatever, doesn't matter really.

Oh and uuh, to throw a bit more fuel in the fire, I bet we were more well-known than him even before Avatar Showdown's release (can't just go by youtube subs), of course after the release there's no doubt.

Just sayin.

Anyway, cool write-up. Tweeted.

Re: Trails of the Number 13!

I've actually been working on it for awhile, I accidently deleted some progress on it a few days ago :( but it was mainly just a prototype I had got running. BUT I have been furthering the design and will soon have some art for it to replace placeholders.

Re: Trails of the Number 13!

When do you plan on starting it and what technologies do you plan to use?

Re: The dreaded game engine

By Bearrick you are talking about me. The reason there is nothing up from this team is because the team isnt working together any longer, Me and Ian have been working with robotics and the reason C++ is annoying us is because the robot is having problems, so we haveall been drained working on it (Me, Ian, Emily, Jacob, and the mentor James)

Engines are good pieces ofwork, but are hard to do, My thing wasnt about gyrovorbis engine it was about the project as a whole but many managed to change it into something about the engine. Game maker uses a scripting language which still teaches some programming knowledge, also spelunky was made with game maker and it is a vastly popular game.

Re: The dreaded game engine

If engines are so great, how come one of your team members is bitching about some other team building an engine, that is even multi-platform. I'm talking about Bearrick. Seriously ever heard of inconsistency? Why don't you at least shut up for the sake of your team. I guess you could accomplish something, but you're always bsing about how bad of a blow your self esteem takes when you fail on a project, yet still I don't even see anything about a project up on your site in a prominent space. But tbh I didn't look thoroughly because it's not even worth it. As obviously you don't know shit, at least show some decency at let other people do good work without you talking trash about it. I guess it's hard to see others succeed when all you did so far was nothing than a miserable fail. You're programming for a robotics team and want to kill yourself because it's in C++? Seriously, dude, if that blows your mind don't even consider making a game in C++, you will probably die.
I am still disgusted by your last youtube vid.

Re: test

I totally agree with this. ;P

Re: Wolfire’s post on Supporting OpenGL

ah i see :)

Re: Wolfire’s post on Supporting OpenGL

pretty much all day atm, working and handeling some business and i'm getting email alerts from comments.

Re: Wolfire’s post on Supporting OpenGL

wow, that was a fast response. how often are you on?

Re: Wolfire’s post on Supporting OpenGL

yea I have. some good some bad, but i still have to agree that opengl is cross platform so its essenstial to peoples needs, directx will write out many Mac and Linux gamers.
